Elizabeth Tyler’s Expertise For the last ten years I have been living and working half the year in Sweden the other half on a small yacht somewhere in the Mediterranean. I have been a professional visual artist for four decades now and my works can be found in galleries, art museums and private collections in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Canada and the USA. In 2005 Gydendal's publishing house in Copenhagen published my book “Akvarelbogen” (The watercolour book) In 2008 I produced a video on DVD called "Realistic Painting with Acrylics" which is now in 4 languages: English, Danish, Swedish and Finnish. In 2010 my 75 minute DVD with the title "Watercolour Realism" was released in Australia and the US. In March 2012 my e-book "Watercolour in detail" was published, it is now sold in 46 countries. A new DVD called Depth and Detail in watercolour was released in December 2015. In the meantime I continue to explore and enjoy different techniques and ways of expressing myself as an artist. I often find my subject matter in a small area of a stony beach. The borderline between the sea and the shore with water, stones, plants and birds are both symbolic and important sources of inspiration for me. I work with acrylics on canvas, watercolours, etching, engraving and lithography. I like to create a 3 dimensional effect by relishing in details in the foreground while keeping the background diffuse. Although I feel my style is personal it is often said to be hyperrealistic/ photorealistic with surrealistic undertones. During the last three years I have been holding talks and lectures about my lifestyle as an artist and solosailor.
