Gabriel Judet-weinshel’s Expertise GABRIEL JUDET-WEINSHEL (writer-director/DP) Gabriel Judet-Weinshel’s work includes music videos, documentaries, short films, as well as his upcoming indie feature OMPHALOS (currently in post-production), starring Edoardo Ballerini, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Austin Pendleton. His work has shown at the San Francisco International Film Festival, the American Film Institute, on Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, and CMT; and at festivals and other venues around the world in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, the UK, Canada, and Egypt. He directed Martin Scorsese in a short piece giving tribute to actor Victor Argo that screened at Lincoln Center. To date, he has directed 11 music videos for artists as wide-ranging as Americana acts The Greencards, to Irish favorite Mark Geary, to French art rocker CharlELlie Couture, to Peter Gabriel signatory Joseph Arthur. As a DP, he has worked extensively in music, photographing U2, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Lil’ Wayne, Elton John, The Black Eyed Peas, Elvis Costello, and many more. Commercial work as a director or DP includes the luxury fashion lines Adrienne Vittadini and Judith Leiber, Cabana Cachaca Rum, and Microsoft. In 2009 he won two local Emmy’s for his direction and photography on NYC Soundtracks, an eight-part documentary series for the Madison Square Garden network on New York Subway musicians. His most recent short, THE HEART IS A HIDDEN CAMERA (starring Zulay Henao of Fighting and Jamie Harding of United 93), has been accepted to over 30 festivals internationally, including the International Films Festival in Bilbao, Spain; the short won awards at the prestigious Black Maria Film Festival and was eligible for Academy Award consideration at the LA Shorts Film Festival. Past nominations include a Rockefeller Fellowship and the Sundance Lab.
