Gantt Meredith’s Expertise Biomedical Engineering PhD Candidate whose research experience includes clinical trial management, focused ultrasound, image analysis, mammalian cell culture, organoid 3D cell culture, adenoviral infection of cardiac and cancerous cell types, creation of a stably-expressing GFP-tagged cardiac cell line, validation of a biomaterial platform for in vitro drug delivery, measuring gene expression through qPCR, nano fabrication of optical waveguides, cryopreservation of human cells, and magnetic actuation of cellular and aceullar constructs for bio active gene and drug therapy. Currently working on therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound for diabetes through Children’s National Hospital under Dr. Karun Sharma. Creating in silico, in vitro, and in vivo models of ultrasound as a treatment for type 1 and 2 diabetes. Previously lead a clinical trial for deep ultrasound stimulation for smoking cessation of chronic smokers through the Department of Veterans Affairs. BOLD contrast analysis through fMRI screenings are analyzed in Matlab, Python, and Linux-based industry-standard software packages. Professionally interested in (Bio)Materials Engineering, Patent Law, and commercializing software. Personally interested in languages, sailing, and yoga.
