Greg Lucas’s Expertise I focus on developing algorithms to gain new insights into data from disparate sources. During my postdoctoral fellowship I have developed a new Python package to determine how geomagnetic storms affect the United States' power grid, ingesting data from geomagnetic observatories, magnetotelluric surveys, and transmission lines. During my thesis, I utilized machine learning techniques to identify wind patterns in electric field datasets along the Florida coast, and developed a physics-based model to calculate electric fields within global climate models.
