In addition, the developmental specialist communicates with the treatment team on a regular basis regarding each patient's classroom performance and behavior. Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education or Emotionally Socially Disturbed is required. Responsibilities • Attend meetings/staff development as required and present educational information as needed. • Collect and report a detailed school history to help in the formation of educational recommendations. • Communicate on a regular basis with the student's home school. • Conduct instructional sessions for 3 hours each day. • Inform school of student's progress, including discharge summaries. • Observe and record academic progress and patient behavior. Present information at treatment team meetings each week. • Write daily lesson plans for each student assigned. Plan for Monday thru Friday.
