From an existing engine, I had to design the system within the space left, using new (aluminum casting) and standard parts. - Questair: From a sketch of a medical compact hydrogen purifying unit, I designed the system assembly on Pro/Engineer and produced the manufacturing drawings in 2 weeks. - Ballard: Design various parts of a fuel cell bus prototype.Vortek is focused on developing Semiconductor Rapid Thermal Processing solutions. The company’s core technology is the Vortek water-wall arc lamp, the world’s most powerful arc lamp system. • Manage various projects: Vacuum chamber, wafer handling system, water-cooled quartz windows, optical reflectors, high power water-cooled electrodes, high-frequency optical radiometer. On the last prototype tool, I was in charge of more than 50% of the mechanical parts, with a budget over $100,000 US. • These projects involved thermal, stress and flow analysis; design of highly thermally loaded mechanical. Gebo is a world leader in bottle conveying systems. Gebo is now part of the Sidel group. - Managed various conveyor projects (part design and manufacturing, product design optimization, etc.) for the food industry. - Defined and performed tests involving new or existing products to determine conveyability and maximize speed. - Managed a critical sub-project within a 20 M$ project: designed an injection-molded plastic part used to support and carry pouches on a high-speed packaging line. Accurate weight and dimensions, stability when handled at high speed, ability to be accurately oriented in two different positions were critical design criteria. A patent was applied for.IBS is a company specialized in ion implant technologies. This expertise includes ion implanter design manufacturing, reconditioning, maintenance. - Industrialization of a complete equipment for high production volume: defined specifications for outsourcing mechanical and electrical subassemblies to various European suppliers. - Manage several families of plasma immersion tools (high production tools, low cost tools for labs, solar tool) from initial specifications and quote up to customers’ delivery and final acceptance. - Obtained complete S2-S8 SEMI certification (safety, ergonomics) for high productivity tool from third party organization. - Design of the critical sub-assemblies of the equipment (plasma source, complete rotating wafer holder chuck, vacuum process chamber ...). This involved design of components with high constraints (high voltage, RF, vacuum, particles …). Various materials are used : quartz, ceramic, graphite, engineering plastics …. • Responsible of the qualification of a sub-assembly for the military industry. This included tests such as vibration, electro-magnetic, thermal. • Project manager for various projects: custom made equipment for the semiconductor industry, automatic weapon for helicopter, ergonomic study for military tank. • In charge of defining and editing technical and financial propositions for various projects.
