The pandemic made me realize the helplessness of people when there's not enough people with healthcare knowledge around us to help one another, especially when some of us were unwell. Trying out healthcare assistant course was the first step into healthcare as I felt it would be a good experience to try first before I go further and deeper in this area. And it did. The training at HMI institute and the Ng Teng Fong hospital internship really opened my eyes and heart. Learning human anatomy and nursing care became exciting for me. The trainers in the healthcare courses were all experienced nurses and clinicians who shared so much of their love and insights of this job, that they inspired me to find my path in healthcare too. Now at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the teachers and trainers helped to pushed my skills and knowledge in nursing. There is always so much new and interesting things to learn in nursing. From clinical to management and research and innovation, this is a never-ending path of knowledge seeking. I would really love to specialize in more clinical areas to deepen my knowledge, so that my skills may come in handy for voluntary work too someday. Ngee Ann Polytechnic
