Helen Pask’s Expertise I have wide experience in laser physics, frequency conversion and solid-state laser development. My specialist expertise is in crystalline Raman lasers, Terahertz lasers and Raman spectroscopy. Other areas of interest include marine optics and biomedical applications of Raman lasers and terahertz sources. My research group comprises academics, research fellows, PhD students, and occasional visiting scholars. We collaboate with researchers in Brazil, China, Japan and the UK, and collaborate with industry partners in Australia, UK and Europe. I have a longstanding personal and professional interests in the teaching of science in primary and secondary schools, and for two years I was the lead Science Investigator in the “Opening Real Science” program funded by the Australian government (Office for Learning and Teaching). My publication record includes an invited book chapter, 72 journal papers (5 invited), and >100 conference papers. My journal papers have been highly cited (2485 citations in Scopus, 3126 citations in Google Scholar), and my h-index is 25 (Scopus). The average number of citations per paper for all my journal publications is >34, well above the discipline expectation and the impact factor for these journals. I have also contributed to some 7 patents in the area of solid state Raman lasers.
