I started my academic career at the University of Pretoria, South Africa where I graduated with a Bachelors’ in Arts degree with majors in Psychology and Criminology. After receiving my Bachelors degree I furthered my studies at the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa (now known as Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) by completing a B.A (Hons). Psychology degree. After completing this degree, I enrolled and graduated with the degree B.A. (Hons) Criminology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. On receiving the above mentioned degree I enrolled for the degree M.A Psychology at the University of Pretoria. The focus of my Masters research was on South African serial killers and the title of my dissertation is:” An exploration of the intra psychic development and personality structure of serial killers through the use of psychometric testing.” While pursuing my Masters’ degree research I was awarded the prestigious Monbukagakusho Scholarship (MEXT) scholarship from the government of Japan to pursue my doctoral aspirations at Tokiwa University in Mito, Japan. My doctoral focus was on: “Sexual Molestation on Public Transportation- A Victimological Approach”. This research culminated in me obtaining the first recognized dedicated full Doctorate in Human Science Victimology which led to me being selected as the first Non Asian Valedictorian at Tokiwa University. My current research interests are: Victim Rights and specifically Victim Rights in South Africa; Human Trafficking in South Africa; Serial Murder in South Africa, Sexual Victimization, Sex worker victimization, and the effects Vehicle Hijacking has on Victims.
