Participating units were provided the opportunity to hone their CAS skills in a joint live fire environment making them a more lethal warrior. As an officer in the Air Force and as an Air Battle Manager, I've gained experience as a leader, manager and mentor. Officer's are typically thrown into situations where they lack experience and are expected to figure it out and get results. As an Air Battle Manager I have experience controlling military aircraft in combat environments, detecting and identifying aircraft via radar and passive detection systems in order to provide a robust and comprehensive air picture over tactical data links for use by other aircraft and the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC). My time as a Missile and Space Facilities technician has given me experience with power production, HVAC and waste disposal systems on Intercontinental Ballistic Missile facilities in North Dakota. My most rewarding experience was as a technical School instructor teaching the Missile and Space Facilities maintenance course. It was here where I gained a significant portion of my award-winning instructor knowledge and know-how. This ultimately led to my commission as a rated officer.
