Jamika Render’s Expertise Plans and supervises delivery of all volunteer services. Assigns volunteers to service based on the program needs and the volunteers interest/skills. Maintains and monitors a record keeping system which includes services delivered and actual time involved. Recruits, interviews and selects volunteers. Designs, supervises, and/or implements the orientation and training of volunteers regarding Serenity Hospice’s philosophy, policy, and practice. Oversees performance of program assistant/ secretary if required. Monitors and evaluates volunteer’s performance. Plans and conducts support meetings for Serenity volunteers as appropriate. Prepares service reports as required by the Director of Support Services or designated supervisor. Develops weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans to achieve goals and build awareness of Serenity Hospice in the community by developing and maintaining professional partnerships in the healthcare field. Forms partnerships and strong relationships with other community businesses, including churches, restaurants, local schools, medical, assisted living, senior facilities, and other agencies in the community for event partnership and sponsorship. Create, plan, and execute several events throughout the year especially holidays and months promoting health awareness. Performs other duties as assigned by the designated supervisor.Participated as an AmeriCorps member in an award-winning network of volunteers who provide individualized attention and positive adult-child relationships to prepare children attending preschools in low-income neighborhoods for school success. - Implemented early childhood curriculum, supported family involvement, promoted children’s language and literacy skills through ongoing relationships and increased adult support in the learning environment. - Collaborated with a team of 4 Corps members to plan twice weekly in-classroom activities for a class of 20 preschool children. - Received intensive training and professional development in early childhood theory and practice, language and literacy development, leadership skills, and communication with families.<Developed communication skills by advocating for students with administrators, relating well with various constituencies: residents, staff maintenance personal, custodial staff, faculty, and parents. This was also developed through answering phone calls to the desk. < Submitted the proper information into various computer programs: Excel, Word, Spreadsheet, and goggle Documents.<Planned programs with other staff members for which I created marketing materials, managed my quartely budget and then submitted the required reports.
