Jasper Heemskerk’s Expertise So far I've made career decisions based on the things that I enjoy most and that make me feel proud. In high school I always loved science related courses and since the study Medical Biology required most of these courses, I concluded that this must be a nice study, and it was. After getting my masters degree in 2000, I decided not to go for a PhD. I had become very interested in computers and related new technology. At that time it was quite easy to start a career in IT, so that's what I did. I learned a lot on the job and by following courses. I've worked as a contractor in various process management, project management and service management roles. After 8 years I was asked to transfer to my last customer, Shell. In 2008, I became Collaboration Consultant for our Projects & Technology business. Guiding teams and individuals in how to best work together virtually (both technology and behaviour). In 2012, I found a role as Business Analyst in the "Business Interface". As a BA I bridged between our Business and IT, to make sure that they understood each other and together worked towards value for the business. My focus areas were virtual working and Joint Ventures. From November 2013 up till August 2017, I moved to the delivery side of IT, in the Data & Analytics team. Responsible for managing new demand and resources for the NL and IN based part of the team. Since September 2017, I'm in Downstream Retail, back in the "Business Interface". First as Sr IT Advisor and since March 2018, as IT Manager for BeNeLux & France. On the business side, working with the Retail Management Team on a joined strategy and planning to increase our revenues on this cluster, where I’m responsible for the IT related items. On the IT side, working with my Natural Team to provide consultancy, deliver projects and secure & reliable Operations to the business.
