Jean Slabbert’s Expertise Jean Daniel Slabbert Born January 1982 in Pretoria, where he lived most of his life, Jean Slabbert matriculated from ‘Die Hoerskool Menlopark’ in 2000. From there, he completed his Bachelor’s- (2003), Honour’s- (2004) and Master’s (2009) degrees in Econometrics from the University of Pretoria. In 2006, Jean was employed as a business- analyst and broker for AfricaBrokers.com. Thereafter, in 2007, Jean ventured into the field of project management for a property development company in Pretoria. Jean was introduced to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in 2008, a field he found both stimulating and challenging; when he was employed as an M&E Officer by the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), a PEPFAR funded HIV/AIDS Management Company, where he was charged with analysis and reporting of over fifty HIV clinics’ data. In October 2009, Jean was employed as a Project Analyst for the Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN), where he was responsible for training, analysis and reporting of all RBN projects and Programmes. Jean was subsequently promoted to manager and head of department of the Organisational Performance and Project Management Office (OPMO), as well as the Research department, where his mandate expanded to include Organisational Performance and research in the departments' scopes. In November 2015, Jean was again promoted to included the RBN's Research department under his management; effectively making him the HOD of two departments. In March 2017, Jean returned to Pretoria, M&E and FPD as he was appointed to the position of Senior M&E Advisor over the entire CBCT programme. Jean is currently performs a similar role on FPD's CDC-funded Key Population programmes. Jean is an energetic, forward-thinking and enterprising individual who prefers to see the opportunities rather than the opposition that challenges bring. Jean attempts to live what he believes every day of his life- even when the going gets tough. Jean believes that strength is for service, not status!
