  I am a semi-retired structural engineer, currently functioning as a consultant and advisor for KPFF Consulting Engineers, a 1,200 person civil and structural engineering firm with approximately 20 offices located primarily on the West Coast of the U.S. I have functioned in many different capacities for KPFF during my professional career, having been with the firm since 1986, and I am also our Past President and Chairman of the Board. I have over 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry, and I am a licensed Civil and Structural engineer in California (and other States). I started my career in the A/E/C industry in the construction business, and I am also a licensed masonry contractor. I have been in responsible charge for the structural design of numerous major building projects, many of which involved large and complicated facilities that required sophisticated structural engineering analysis and design, considerable client coordination/communication, and significant project management expertise. I have also published a number of papers on seismic analysis, seismic design and reinforced masonry design and construction. I am one of the points of contact for the Forensic Services area of KPFF’s professional practice. I have served as an independent Forensic Consultant and Expert Witness on specific outside matters, providing a variety of Litigation Support services to Clients, and I have been a principal-in-charge fir existing facility investigations, studies, and building retrofit/repair activities related to this Service area for KPFF. I also have been responsible for managing claims matters, professional liability insurance issues, and general risk management matters for KPFF for over 20 years. In addition to my advisory and consulting role for KPFF, I am also taking on projects of interest as they may arise.
