  I knew before starting pharmacy school at the University of Michigan that my passion was pediatrics. In pharmacy school, I took every opportunity and even created opportunities, to get exposure in pediatric pharmacy. Whether that was shadowing the clinical pharmacists at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, helping the pharmacists (now my mentors) with writing projects, redesigning the pediatrics elective, joining PPAG, or starting a pediatric focus group, I have surrounded myself with pediatric pharmacy. After school, I took that interest to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, where I completed a pediatric-focused PGY-1 residency and focused on my interest of pediatric oncology. I started working at North Carolina Children's Hospital, part of UNC Health Care, in August of 2013 as a pediatric clinical generalist. I quickly moved into a pediatric clinical float role, where I routinely covered a variety of services including PICU, NICU, hematology/oncology, and general pediatrics. In August of 2014, I began my dream job as the inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT clinical pharmacist, where I am honored to work with the most inspiring kids that I'll ever meet. Nearly 10 years in to working with these amazing kids, teens, & young adults, along with their families, I can certainly confirm that they teach me so much. I work with an amazing team of nurses and providers and while this job can be mentally and emotionally taxing, this is exactly where I'm meant to be. Unc Health Care
