So I moved backed to the United States, and was based in Washington for the last 14 years. As a producer, the Washington Post has hailed me as “A visionary artistic leader.” As the leader of four different companies I have been responsible for both artistic and managerial aspects. This has included board development, all artistic and production crew hiring, contracts, budget creation, payroll, union and agent interactions, filing of all annual tax documents and audits, creating and amending bylaws, grant writing and the execution of capital campaigns. In 2012, I made a simultaneous decision: to earn my masters degree in business administration and to begin focusing on more work as a producer. The MBA was a to bring my business acumen into greater alignment with my artistic experience. The decision to focus on my skills as a producer stems from the fact that I love working with directors and building environments that shield artists from the commercial pressures the industry can create.
