  Keep progressing! Never settle! I started out in surveying as a member of the field crew, and quickly worked my way into the role of a party chief. At times, I would be pulled into the office to grow my drafting skills, which it became clear that Autocad would be my future. Started out with Autocad R13 and progressed with each release. While growing with Autocad, I realized that I also wanted to achieve more with my rolls. I wanted to push to make myself more skilled, in turn more valuable to the company. In 2008, I was laid off from my surveying/drafting position due to economic downturns. I decided that I was not the person who could just around. I took on contractor roles, did side work, but I kept learning during that time. In 2011 I was lucky enough to stumble into telecommunications. I learned quickly that the position was not one I could grow with, which lead me to Compass (to be acquired by Jacobs). I came onboard as just another drafter, not knowing very much about "cell towers", just knowing Autocad. Within a couple of years I was leading my own projects. I kept trying to grow, taking on more and more tasks involved with the projects. After 11 years, I am still learning and trying to grow, taking on more and more.
