Tickey has been elected to the City of Shelton’s Planning & Zoning Commission for 3 consecutive terms. He believes in a business-friendly community that takes a balanced approach to development. Tickey was previously elected to the Board of Apportionment and Taxation, where he worked to decrease the tax-rate while maintaining key city services. In May 2022 Tickey was elected Vice Chair of the Connecticut Democratic Party. Previously, Tickey formed the LGBTQ Caucus of the Connecticut Democratic Party and led trainings for candidates and Democratic organizations.
