Joe Anthony’s Expertise Working in lifting/cranes and specialist/abnormal transport for over 15 years, I hold a UK CPSC level 6 NVQ in Planning & Controlling Lifting Operations, Crane Supervisor, Mobile Crane (All duties) and a full UK class 1 (CE) HGV licence. Having worked with a large UK crane hire and transport company for many years, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in all types of lifting activities and environments, typically construction, industrial and petrochemical/refinery. Lived and worked in the Gulf region (MENA) for over 8 years, firstly in UAE then based in Qatar, now returned to UK. I started my first Qatar project managing 7 tower cranes, 8 mobile cranes and a lifting team of around 100 staff on the Sheraton Park Project in Doha, then the LRT project in Lusail, also for QDVC. Construction of a 28 station Light Rail Transit system for the new city of Lusail, just north of Doha. Managing 17 tower cranes, up to 12 mobile cranes, in excess of 180 members of staff, also the training of riggers and supervisors, appointing of new staff, managing all QDVC documents relating to lifting and logistics including preparation of lift plans, method statements, drawings etc. I was also managing the transport and logistics department with its various responsibilities including the movement of cranes, equipment and materials around the 45km² site. Transferred after completion of duties at LRT to Gold Line Metro for ALYSJ-JV, another Qatar Rail project comprising of 10 underground stations plus satellites with a fleet of around 45 tower cranes and 30 mobiles plus a lifting team of approximately 500 staff. Moved on to be Project Lifting Manager at Ras Bu Abboud 40K World Cup Stadium project, working to QP (Qatar Petroleum) regulations. The project had 12 tower cranes, 10 crawler cranes up to 650te and a large number of supporting mobile cranes up to 200te capacity. Managing a lifting team of over 200 staff along with the implementation of lifting equipment and personnel databases, I also trained and promoted many guys within the lifting team. I’m working closely with the engineering sub-contractors to develop lift plans and arrangements for all of the lifting activities involved in building the stadium, these include heavy, complex and tandem lifts. The project reached completion with almost 30,000te of steel in many forms erected safely. https://www.sc.qa/en/stadiums/ras-abu-aboud-stadium https://www.qr.com.qa/English/Projects/Pages/GoldLine.aspx http://www.qdvc.com/en/?a=projects&action=view&id=13 http://www.qdvc.com/en/?a=projects&action=view&id=16
