During my time in college, I was involved in a number of volunteer organizations and research clubs. These volunteer organizations would include Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, America Reads/America Counts Tutoring and the University of Illinois I-Guide program. I was also involved in my residence hall’s Hall Council and served as co-president for one semester. I worked as an RA in my last year of college and in that role, I served as a diversity and inclusion facilitator for the many different students on my floor of the building. I am currently an L4 Inbound Area Manager working the overnight shifts (6 pm-6 am) at an Amazon Fresh Online warehouse here in Chicago, IL. I have worked in this role now for approximately 2 years. During these two years, I have learned a great amount of knowledge about management, leadership, engagement, a bias for action, ownership, and what it means to strive to be Earth’s Best Employer. In the past 2 years, my site and the entire network, in general, have progressed and grown at an incredible rate and it was a privilege to be a part of and push that growth and development. I knew that I was ready for the next step in my career and that lead me to product management. After doing more research on PM I saw product management as something that matched my younger dream of being an inventor. It also correlates to my current role as an Area Manager at Amazon where I learned to be Customer Focused. I am also currently in an online Product Management Certificate tech boot camp through Full-stack Academy. Through this course, I have learned how to write PRDs, build Product Roadmaps, build wireframes/prototypes, do UX Research, and UX Web Design. Going forward into the future I will be working towards transitioning into a more corporate-focused role. I am interested in the analytics and logistics of supply chain and vendor management.
