During my time at the College, I have overseen two changes of Management Information System, the virtualisation of our server environment, the implementation of a wireless network (inc. BYOD), the replacement of thousands of PCs, changed firewalls and upgrades to the desktop environement. I have a track-record of 'painless' delivery, on schedule and with efficient use of precious resources (we are a publicly funded institution, after all!). My background in Music and Sound Recording means that I get involved in the Music department too - from helping with performance, through to assisting students with recording projects - as well as supporting the specialist equipment. I have mentored students looking for careers in Music Technology, helping them to see the possibilities beyond A level and BTEC Music and Music Technology. And away from work, I am a very active musician. I (mostly!) play bass (double-bass and bass guitar) in Big Bands, jazz ensembles, concert bands, orchestras, shows/concerts and as 'musician for hire'. I play for recording sessions, and have 'add a part' capability at home.
