My PhD thesis, specifically focused on the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), explores the roles of bureaucrats and other frontline staff working in the EU’s external border regions on asylum and other migration issues. Additionally, I am deeply interested in return migration, EU migration policy, and particularly forced migration in the Mediterranean. The theoretical framework of my research is influenced by Political Science, Organizational Studies, and Political Sociology.
