Setup in 2007 Catering2order has rapidly become one of London’s leading contract catering social firms. The firm provides a range of catering services from office lunch delivery, buffet catering to staff restaurant and cafe management. The company’s passion for everything food related, quality of produce and attention to detail has led to a rapidly growing prestigious portfolio of customers including The Cabinet Office, The 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority, Lend Lease, Skanska Civil Engineering, Willmott Dixon, Wates Group, Southwark Council and Action For Blind People. As a new breed of “social entrepreneur” John has strived to ensure that the majority of Catering2order’s award winning, highly skilled and professional employees are either disabled or come from socially or economically deprived local communities. In addition the company wholly finances it’s own paid work placement scheme for people with disabilities from it’s own profits. The scheme enjoys an 85% success rate of graduates going on to successfully find meaningful employment. Catering2order’s efforts received acknowledgement when it was a finalist in the CBI sponsored Growing Business awards as Social Enterprise of the year 2008 and more recently in 2009 winning the Thames Gateway Business award. John has recently been awarded an honorary Doctorate in Business from the University of East London Specialties: Holding a number of advisory and consultative posts.
