  In 2005 I took my first position within the construction industry for a family run main contractor called CS Williams in Taunton. I completed a National Diploma in Construction, a HNC in Construction and a Degree in Quantity Surveying whilst with CS Williams, before accepting a position with Matrix Solutions in early 2012. Following CS Williams I had two brief stays at Matrix Solutions and Stacey Construction before accepting a role at Rydon Construction in Bristol. My portfolio includes various refurbishment projects, including schools, medical centres, Industrial Units and Salvation Army Halls, as well as conservation works on buildings such as Tyntesfield House (Wraxall) as assistant QS, and St James Priory (Bristol) as lead QS. I completed 2 major projects as lead surveyor for Rydon Construction during my 4 1/2 years with them. My first project with Rydon was a complex refurbishment and extension to a live leisure centre in Salisbury (Five Rivers Campus), this 6.5 million project was carried out over 10 phases with many overlapping in order to keep the sports centres facilities as operable as possible. After the successful completion of this project I was asked to take on a new build 78 flat retirement home in Taunton, this 10 million project completed in mid 2018. In September 2018, I accepted a position at Avery Carpentry Contractors Ltd in Taunton and am now one of two surveyors heading up the commercial aspects of Avery's carpentry and fire stopping operations. Including estimating and negotiating new projects and controlling costs on live projects. I am a hard working, ambitious, self-motivated employee that strives to achieve targets and goals set.
