Dr. Negrin has wide work experience. From 1984 to 1985 he served as an Analyst in the Ministry of the Economy. From 1985-1987, he worked as Junior Consultant at “Technical Consultants in Economics” and as Economic Analysis Coordinator at the weekly journal “Multiplicador Financiero” associated to “El Financiero” newspaper. From 1989 to 1992 he was a researcher at “Instituto de Investigación Económica Lucas Alamán, A.C.”. From 1998 on he has served at Banco de México in different positions. From 1998 to 2010 he was an Economic Researcher; from 2010 to 2012 he served as Manager of Financial Services Evaluation. From 2013 on, he has served as Director of Financial Services Evaluation. Dr. Negrin has taught several courses in Economic and Financial Regulation, and Industrial Organization at universities like CIDE and ITAM (both in Mexico City) and has presented his research in seminars and conferences around the world. He has several publications both in national and international journals in topics like economic regulations, payment systems and economic competition. In 1998, Dr. Negrin received the first prize in the Banamex National Economics Contest with his research “Access Price Determination in a Vertically Integrated Industry”.
