He attended culinary school, graduating with honors at Oregon Culinary Institute, over 14 years with Martin North finishing as the Executive chef manager of The Wayfarer Restaurant in Cannon Beach prepared him to be the Executive Chef of Tillamook. Josh is a steward for food sustainability, and an Oregon Coast native who digs razors goes crabbing, loves sturgeon, and chanterelle mushrooms. In his career, he has had the opportunity to showcase coastal cuisine at the James Beard House on multiple occasions, present at De Gustibus cooking school in NY, mentor the Seaside High School Prostart team for 8 years, winning the Oregon state championship in that event on two occasions, present at FEAST Portland, appear on season 18 of Top Chef, and been part of the presenting team for many weddings, events, beer festivals, and even a music festival. Growing up on the coast of Oregon, he visited the Creamery visitor center as a young child and has had years to become familiar with the products and people that make Tillamook special and really understands the value of that experience in making the guest experience in Tillamook a continued tradition for visitors traveling the Oregon Coast.
