My generation must know LLMs, LLVMs, Micro-controllers, Micro-Services, Virtualization, Docker, Wine (which isn't either of those things), cloud hosting, local hosting, be able to purchase and assemble high-end multi-core multi-threaded multi-CPU redundant-PSU machines that have proper anti-siezing closed-loop cooling and a custom breaker for emergencies with APUs so powerful they backfeed a little into the servers (which means you'll need a little OPS experience, you know, just because no one else is going to do it). We need these machines to do all their number crunching through GPUs which exist only because we Game, which we mustn't ever acknowledge, though we must fully understand intimately, but again, NEVER actually "Do", as gaming is a Corporate SIN. We must then also understand that none of that is affordable and thus we must make it happen on cheaper-than-pi risk-v based boards that are so abstracted from original visions that they require Digital Twins just to convey an idea in an excel-like way (whew, we got it on a sheet!). We also need to know that we'll be emulating Arduino via a convenient GPIO routing virtualization layer, and that we'll be using RADIUS WIFI but branded as NPS via MSHQ to rationalize an upcharge we also need to know about. We also need to build the ERP, CRM, MIS, Active or non-active directories, DHCP, DNS, every web-language ever, reporting engines, SQeeeL.. and fix all accounting woes, but... never EVER actually "look at the accounting". To do this, We need to embed an entire browser core into the tiniest of our applications and compile it all to WASM because we have one thread to work with and it MUST animate smoothly. Luckily We have HTMX which is here to give you a break from JavaScript (written in JavaScript!). Neat. Anyhow... I've really enjoyed learning, I'm just saying it would be nice to learn excel and actively try to learn nothing else for the rest of my life in the next go-around.
