I'm a VR enthusiast, amateur mathematician, boulderer, and gaming hardware enthusiast. I'm a 3rd year PhD student at the university of Austin Texas with a passion for complexity theory, and a children's book writer. I am a little all over the place. I am NOT the following, even if I give the impression that I am. I am not a statistician or a machine learning specialist. I know enough stats to get by and enough familiarity with ML to generally understand the different approaches. I am not a physicist, I know enough to "understand" quantum computing, but can barely understand tensor notation. I am not even a particularly good artist. I know enough of these fields to talk to experts in these fields and know what they are saying (usually, anyway. Things get complicated). But I don't have enough experience or outright knowledge in those fields to do more than have a basic understanding of what is being discussed, and occasionally offer suggestions. Right now, I am interested in researching complexity theory. Circuit complexity, PCPs, and Quantum computing are of particular interest to me. Quantum computing is maybe not overhyped, but wrongly hyped. As in: there is a lot of hype for these in ways that seem unlikely to be useful given what we know about them. PCPs are underappreciated. And we are far too ignorant about circuit complexity. I want to improve all of issues.
