During this time, I have logged Aircrew Officer rotary wing hours, Including day & night winches, front left seat operations and night vision goggles/night vision information systems (NVG/NVIS). It’s an extreme job, & one that I’m absolutely passionate about. In addition to the hundreds of successful rescue operations I’ve participated in, career highlights to date include being awarded Crew Member of the Year in 2016 by Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service & being invited to the SLSA Leadership Course. The highlight of my every day is coming to the aid of others & seeing the look of sheer relief on their faces when they realise they are going to be OK. I enjoy playing a key role in supporting frontline services, turning what could be the worst day of people’s lives into something positive by bringing them home to their loved ones.
