Being a 'Team Sunshine' committee member, on top of my project work, has been allowed me to build towards this through organizing social events, a monthly newsletter and internal networking events. Prior to my current role, I was a PGR at the University of Southampton researching into developing biosensors with applications in biomedicine and the environment through the use of nanoparticles (mostly upconversion NPs) and 2D materials. During this time I was a co-author on an RSC journal article (DOI: 10.1039/d2ra03599e) and was able to develop a strong ability in self-motivated research, scientific presentations and extensive wet chemistry lab experience. Also gained experience in using lasers (homemade fluorescence spectroscopy set-up) and Transmission electron microscopy amongst other nanoscience analytical techniques. Bat
