  When I was seven years old, I conquered what was then my biggest fear, stage fright. I find that there are very few things that tend to scare off children, but this for me was a fear even greater than the boogieman. Standing on stage with the heat of the light, what seemed like thousands of eyes staring me down and surrounded by people that I did not know. –Quick background, I was on a Disney cruise and was in a best ‘Tarzan yell’ competition, so this was pretty serious stuff- While I stood on stage next to grown men and in front of a couple of hundred of people that I have never met before, a microphone was placed in front of me. I could have easily run off the stage, which my head was telling me to do. Instead, I grabbed that microphone and let out a tiny squeak, which was intended to be my ‘yell’. Not my best Tarzan yell, though I must say it has improved immensely in the years since, but I was a winner that day. No really, I won because it was so adorable, but I also was a winner because I did not quit. I was not about to let these grown men show me up and I was able to step out of my comfort zone. Though I am no longer a seven year old who competes in pretty serious competitions, I am a confident, outgoing, and constantly pushing the limits of my comfort zone 30-year-old. I am a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and have earned a B.A. in Public Relations as well as a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in organizational leadership and finance. I work full time in personal investing operations at Fidelity Investments where I continue to push myself in various aspects to surpass every limit I have set for myself and that others have set for me on a daily basis.
