As a proven leader, I was asked to direct the implementation of YKHC’s electronic health record (EHR) system. Effectively partnering with the Cerner Corporation, I successfully led the company through a 12-month design and implementation of 42 clinical, administrative and financial solutions in over 50 distinctly separate locations for 1,300 employees spread throughout the region. YKHC was awarded the Cerner Consulting Award for project excellence within the first quarter of implementation. Within the first 12 months YKHC was able to successfully attest to Meaningful Use Stage 1. Within a month of the Corporation’s EHR adoption, I was asked to step into the role of CIO. While this was wholly different than my previous roles, I was able to apply demonstrated leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities while learning and synthesizing new information quickly; and was able to develop a SWOT analysis and strategic plan within a short time frame.
