Keith Wylie’s Expertise I'm a legal psychologist with an interdisciplinary background in cognitive, social, and quantitative psychology, and an Assistant Professor in the Psychology program at Emporia State University. My teaching expertise includes Cognition, Social Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods, and I have developed new, innovative courses for our curriculum, including Legal Psychology and the Psychology of Pseudoscience. I am committed to using project-based learning to help students apply psychological science to real-world contexts, and I prioritize equity and accessibility through the use of open-educational resources and open-source software. Diversity and inclusion are also core topics in my teaching. My research interests are centered on eyewitness memory, juror decision-making, metacognition, social cognition, and misinformation/disinformation. I am dedicated to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects in many areas of applied experimental psychology, including legal psychology, educational psychology, and organizational psychology. My students and I have presented our research at regional, national, and international conferences, and our findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as "Law & Human Behavior" and "Journal of Investigative Psychology & Offender Profiling." In addition to my research and teaching responsibilities, I am also the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the BS/BA in Psychology. In this capacity, I conduct regular evaluations of the curriculum through student surveys and other means, plan and facilitate professional development seminars for faculty and students, and make recommendations for course scheduling and availability. This role allows me to actively contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the undergraduate program, providing guidance and support to students and ensuring the program's alignment with academic standards and best practices.
