Growing up in a bicultural household, I learned both English and Spanish, which has led to my love of traveling and experiencing other cultures. My interest in design began during early childhood. Oftentimes, my mother recalls the story of how at the age of six, she found me in my room cutting up one of my old t-shirts and making a small dress for my Barbie doll. She wondered and was amazed at how I had managed to climb into her closet and take her sewing box from the top ledge without falling. Six years later, I taught myself how to use a sewing machine and make doll clothes with paper patterns after receiving a sewing machine for my twelfth birthday. Sewing quickly became my favorite pastime and the gateway to my passion for creative design. At the age of 18, I moved to Kent, Ohio to pursue an education in Fashion Design. During my college career, I traveled to Spain and stayed with my uncle in Madrid, where I interned at Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. After graduating with a B.A. in Fashion Design, I moved to California for my first job as an Assistant Designer. I worked for Innov8 Partners, LLC in Modesto, California for brands; Noble Outfitters, Noble Equestrian, Sherpa Adventure Gear and First Tactical. After working on the Design and Development team for two years, I was promoted to Associate Designer. While working at Innov8 Partners, I was able to gain valuable experience in various areas of Fashion Design such as product development, creative apparel design, technical design and print & pattern design. For the past 8 years, I have been working in the Fashion Industry while focusing on womenswear. I'm excited to continue expanding my knowledge across multiple apparel categories. Currently, I am the Senior Apparel Designer for Tennis and Pickleball at Tail Activewear in Miami, Florida. Through each new opportunity I take, I challenge myself to learn more about what is happening in the design world and gain a deeper understanding of ways to not only be innovative but also problem solve in all aspects of design and product development.
