Kyle Dees’s Expertise Identified as the subject matter expert and point of contact for a 12-person team, responsible for the daily production/extraction of data from multiple sensors on three different analytical systems. In addition to performing the work myself, I also assisted my team in performing data triage/data ingestion for our sensor suite. In this role, I was responsible for developing, mentoring and training other analysts (internal and external) in the extraction process for our specific sensor suite. I led a portion of the development and implementation of new features/software for our team; while assisting in daily managerial tasks. I continued to act as part of the database team when needed, in charge of data ingestion/triage.Recognized as an Activity-Based Intelligence subject matter expert for my squadron and the ABI tool beta test cell lead for NASIC, which provided intelligence support to various: agencies, teams, programs, systems, and processes. As the beta test cell lead, I was responsible for the testing of applications such as ABIPED/BlackWolf/Mist, while documenting and providing feedback back to NGA for any issues/enhancements identified or necessary to use the application within production. While testing the ABIPED/BlackWolf tool, I reported approximately 400 issues/enhancements. I was responsible in maintaining and applying knowledge of foreign weapon systems, doctrine and tactics to my research-type work and focused on developing, mentoring and training other analysts/agencies on the use of ABI tools within the production environment. I was a core member of several high-profile issue working groups surrounding my experience/knowledge of my specialty and worked directly with multiple departments on the use of multi-source intelligence tools, providing my personal feedback/ideas. Provided acquisition support by: solely creating a new contract to keep a project funded/going, acting as the task manager for a contract in charge of approximately 8 subject mater experts and as a technical point of contact for a customer driven project in charge of approximately 10 contractors. I also continued to act as part of the database team when needed, in charge of data ingestion/triage.Recognized as a national expert in event-based Overhead Infrared ISR assets and acted as a senior analyst/subject matter expert for my team, responsible in maintaining and applying knowledge of foreign weapon systems, doctrine and tactics. Part of my position focused on developing, mentoring and training other analysts (senior, junior, analysts from other agencies) in processing, exploitation and dissemination (PED) systems specific to our sensor suite. Led the development, implementation and training of new algorithms, software programs, software testing, exploitation systems and the creation of automation software using Visualbasic/Excel - which increased efficiency and streamlined the analysis process. Utilized acquisition experience to integrate these developed and mature PED capabilities into mainstream major intelligence acquisition software programs. Identified to cross-train with scene-based teams, increasing my depth of knowledge and assisting in the creation of a fused product. Beyond my role as a Senior Analyst, I was also certified as a: team quality control expert, team trainer and a “Standards” evaluator for our entire flight. When needed, I acted as the team lead for my analytical group, the database team lead in charge of data ingestion/triage, the testing team lead for my analytical area and the analytical tool testing director on multiple occasions.• Performed as Tier I and Tier II Customer Support, where I served as a customer liaison and the lead support technician (phone, e-mail and chat) for the Surround SCM application. In addition, I acted as the backup customer support technician for the remaining TestTrack and QA Wizard Pro applications. • Focused on the quality of one of these applications specifically by creating test cases/test runs and performing system, unit, acceptance, regression, load/edge, and functional/performance testing using both automated and manual testing methods. • Assessed and ensured the quality of the remaining client/server applications, including their overall interoperability. • Taught myself the Linux operating system and worked with several distros. Due to this eagerness, I was designated as the lead Linux/Unix analyst responsible for all testing. • Documented software defect reports and guaranteed the resolution of all defects. In addition, I created all documentation associated to new features and shortcuts that were being developed. • Worked one-on-one with client and server developers to reproduce/resolve issues. • Evaluated and tested the software application to verify that the functionality met the specifications and design of the original documentation. In addition, I verified the functionality met the expectations and quality of the user/customers. • Documented consumer complaints and found solutions within the prescribed time. If I couldn’t solve the issue myself, I worked one-on-one with Client and Server Developers to reproduce and resolve issues within the application.• Worked as a member of a team to assess and ensure the quality of a software application, while creating and executing the testing lifecycle strategy (including unit/regression testing). This was used to verify the functionality met the specifications and design of the original documentation. • Responsible for the testing of the Media Center (store front of the application), verifying the content/ads/links worked correctly and releasing the content when it was ready for consumer use by designated deadlines. • Responsible for the testing of the weekly Music files; guaranteeing the quality of the content, the content’s metadata and releasing content when it was ready for consumer use by designated deadlines. • Provided tier II and tier III customer support via phone and email, while relying on MSQL to obtain information from a database to resolve customer issues or to collaborate with the developers to identify a fix. • Maintained and updated sixteen lab machines. • Provided developers and the CEO with new ideas/functionality. • Worked one-on-one with client/server developers to resolve issues. • Created and maintained test plans, functional requirement documents (FRDs), flow charts, frequently asked question documents and all other appropriate documentation. • Documented software error reports and guaranteed the resolution of all defects using JIRA, Excel, and Word.• Performed as the sole administrator to configure, troubleshoot and develop/maintain a network of three systems for a small-sized real estate company. Provided reports on how to expand the network and connect mobile employees. • Researched and developed a cost comparison sheet for the acquisition of new computer systems for an office of 10 employees. After acquiring the new hardware, I was responsible for installing and configuring the office network for communication between all systems. • Monitored the health of the network and was the sole person in charge of performance tuning for all computer equipment. This includes diagnosing/replacing failing computer hardware. • Developed and installed a security solution for the entire network consisting of a firewall and antivirus solution. After installation, I monitored network traffic to verify everything was normal. • Located and manually removed viruses/infected files from each system, when the installed antivirus/antispyware software failed to remove the infected files automatically. • Responsible for tier III customer support. • Learned HTML code on my own time to enhance my knowledge and developed/maintained the corporate website/logo. • Collaborated with the hosting company to upload the corporate webpage to the server. • Provided training for other employees through on-site demonstrations and user guides for all developed tools and computer processes.
