Lisa Boyle’s Expertise I love working in the early childhood education field with young children, their families, and professional classroom teachers who believe in bringing out the best in each child they work with. I believe that a child’s early experiences are the most important and set the framework for all future learning. As an early childhood educator, I have the opportunity to help children and their families during one of the most crucial points in their lives. Providing activities that are based on the interests of the children and scaffolding learning for children to reach goals is important to their development as life-long learners. I value staying up-to-date on current research, best practices, and trends in early childhood development and education. Early childhood education is an ever changing field and with the current pandemic it’s even more rapidly changing as we realize the full impact of the stresses that have been placed on children and families during this time. It is more important than ever to ensure that child care professionals are providing for the health, safety, and social-emotional well-being of the young children in our care. It is essential that we educate young children on how to keep themselves healthy while providing a reassuring environment for them to express themselves. We need to provide children with the opportunity to learn skills for self-regulation and develop an awareness of their own body and emotions. As an administrator, it is my role to model high quality care and to support, coach, and empower classroom teachers to be their best. Through frequent classroom observations and providing positive and constructive feedback, teachers become comfortable with asking questions and open to coaching and asking questions. Creating an environment where teachers feel comfortable with discussing concerns not only supports teachers, but enables them to support the families and children in their care.
