In 2020, we wrapped up the data for our City's stellar U. S. Dept. of Treasury funded, CARES Workforce Assistance Program to serve residents who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. I contributed grant development expertise to the awarded 1.4 million US DOL grant, 1 in 5 nationwide in 2019, for the VOACC Newport News YouthBuild Program. We just began our second grant award this year. I supported the 2018-2019 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CNI project for the city of Newport News. This grant award was 30 million for our Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority. I led an amazing team to draft in 2018 and we submitted the (VA FirstCities) VDSS-TANF grant. This 3.2 million grant is a 5 year program to build skills and wealth in our city. I am also engaged with the Brooks Crossing Innovation (iLab) and Opportunity Center from design, through the buildout, and adding appropriate partners to the Opportunity Center. I supported efforts to open our City’s Four Oaks Day Service Center to serve our homeless population. Prior to this, I was the AVP, Private/Public Partnerships for PCFWD. I am a past NAWDP Board Director for Virginia, a proactive leader in Workforce Development, project manager, Business Services Director, a partner with regional Economic Development Authorities, industry cluster leader for: trades, Healthcare, Maritime, Aerospace, and Information Technology. I have prior experience with import/Export experience, marketing, and successful entrepreneurial ventures.
