Lixin Cheng’s Expertise Prof. Lixin Cheng's research interests include multiphase flow and heat transfer, nanofluids flow and heat transfer, supercritical fluid flow and heat transfer, thermal system and energy efficiency, interdisciplinary research in thermal, mechanical, chemical, petroleum and renewable energy engineering. Dr. Cheng received his Ph.D. in Therm. Energy Eng. at the State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Power Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, China in1998. He has four year industrial working experience in Weihai Pump Factory, China and also served as consultant in pump industry. He worked as senior lecturer, lecturer, scientific collaborator, Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, senior research fellow and post-doctoral researcher at the University of Portsmouth, University of Aberdeen, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Leibniz University of Hanover, London South Bank University and Eindhoven University of Technology respectively since 2000. He was a lecturer at South China University of Technology in 1998-2000. He has delivered excellent lectures for his students and also achieved significant research in various areas. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Int. J. Microscale Nanoscale Therm. Fluid Transport Phenomena (IJMNTFTP), e-book series "Advs. Multiphase Flow Heat Transfer", Springer Briefs in "Multiphase Flow" and book series "Frontiers and Progress in Multiphase Flow" by Springer. He is on the editorial board of the Open J. Thermodynamics, J. Petroleum Eng. and the Scientific World J. He has published more than 80 papers in journals and conferences, 8 book chapters and edited several books. Dr. Cheng has been appointed as Associate Professor of Heat Transfer Engineering, an international journal since April 2016 . Dr. Cheng worked Aarhus University as associate professor in Chemical Engineering in July 2013 - December 2015. Since January 2016, he has take a principal lecturer in Chemical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, UK.
