Luke Chen’s Expertise Luke is an extremely versatile technical professional with a very broad mix of skills and expertise. His Ph.D. work in experimental nuclear physics involved extensive work in simulation/modeling and data reduction/processing. This work led to the world’s first observation of the low-lying ground-state of the 9He nucleus. As Luke transitioned from academia, he started working in a commercial software company and led a team of developers to produce one of the first SOA testing suites for enterprise systems (Now called Parasoft SOAtest). Luke’s subsequent employment opportunities provided diverse technical challenges, ranging from developing a novel, signal-processing approach to data-mining, to producing cutting-edge simulation tools for the missile defense industry. For the past decade, Luke has been working for Leidos (Formerly Science Application International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 engineering services company). As a result of his unusual combination strong software design and quantitative analysis skills, Luke has made broad and significant contributions in his current work on space-based sensor development. These contributions involve signal processing algorithm development, sensor performance characterization, embedded flight software development, ground system support software, numerous system design/analysis work products, and on-site customer technical support. Specialties: Object-oriented software development Physics-based Simulations/Modeling Signal processing/Algorithm development
