His dad and mom taught him to enjoy the outdoors, fly fish, and identify birds, snakes, and plants by age nine. Now he runs the California Department of Water Resources Statewide Restoration Initiatives Branch. In his past work he has supervised and managed the Fish Passage Improvement Program and the Riverine Stewardship Section with his high performing team of managers, supervisors, scientists, and engineers working on river stewardship, urban streams restoration, San Joaquin River fish enhancement, fish passage at high dams and in the flood system, and small tributaries to the Central Valley. He still gets to lead those programs and high performers and he will add a land stewardship program in January 2024 to his responsibilities. He continues to bring his passion for serving tribes and the public in ecosystem restoration by creating thriving partnerships and building diverse collations through his collaborative leadership skills. He enjoys spending his time traveling with his family to play soccer and explorer California and beyond. He was born in Jersey City (Lenni Lenape Lands) and grew up in North Caldwell, N.J.
