Marc Nance’s Expertise The first word out of my mouth as a toddler was “ai-ja,” which was a poorly pronounced “airplane.” My parents knew that is what I meant as I pointed to airplanes flying overhead in my hometown of Spokane, Washington. As a teenager, I obtained my private pilot’s certificate not long after getting my driver’s license. Thinking I would major in mathematics– primarily because I was good at it– I started my college career at the University of Washington. I quickly learned that mathematics alone did not inspire me, so I pivoted when I learned that I could get a degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics, where I utilized applied mathematics with my aviation passion. Now, this pushed my buttons! I loved my education at the University of Washington, where I obtained both a Bachelor’s and a Master's Degrees, and where I am excited to still serve on the UW Systems Engineering Advisory Board. Having always been impressed with The Boeing Company and its products, I was honored to be selected for an internship prior to graduation. This led the way for an incredible 35-year aerospace career that took me around the globe in defense, space, and commercial aerospace markets. Throughout this career, I learned about engineering complex systems, safety, teamwork, and the incredible abilities of people around the world. I discovered a passion for leading and supporting teams of people in order to achieve goals they never thought possible. I was blessed to be an executive leader for the last 12 years of my Boeing career, where I have led numerous projects and learned more about people, teams, and myself. Since leaving Boeing, I have performed consulting services and served on multiple non-profit boards. In January 2022, I excitedly joined Third Angle Consulting as their Chief Operating Officer. Having strategically partnered with Third Angle in the past, I am thrilled to become an integral member of their team as we continue to help our clients discover and leverage new assets within their organizations and complex networks. With the financial challenges many businesses are facing, we offer a unique look at creating value with existing opportunities.
