  Biography of Dr. Marcus Adams Dr. Marcus Adams, born 1954 in Tuebingen, Germany, studied Electrotechnical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, and graduated as Diplom-Ingenieur in 1982. Thereafter he joined the University of Karlsruhe as Assistant Professor. In 1984 the Computer Research Center at the University of Karlsruhe was founded (FZI), where he belonged to the foundation staff and became head of the Microcomputer Technology department. During this time he became PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) of the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Karlsruhe. In 1991 he left the Alma Mater and joined a consultant company as head of the group Industrial Communications. In 1993 he became Secretary of a Technical Committee of CENELEC. The position is held up to now. In 1994 he joined Dr. Seufert GmbH as general manager of International Sales and Marketing. Due to a merger in January 1999 he was general manager of the Barco Control Room Division GmbH, Karlsruhe (formerly Dr. Seufert GmbH). In 2003 he joined PSI AG as general manager of PSI Manufacturing, a business unit founded to explore new markets for PSI’s SCADA technology. In 2008 the business unit was transferred into a subsidiary of PSI named PSI Production GmbH for which he became the Managing Director. With company new markets were explored like traffic telematics and mining. Due to the market focus on traffic telematics and mining the company was renamed in PSI Mines&Roads GmbH in 2013. Dr. Marcus Adams is member and active in the following industrial associations: Secretary of the Technical Committee „Fieldbus“ (TC65CX) of the European Standardization Organization CENELEC Member of the German VDE/DKE K956 „Industrial Communication“ (ex-officio as Secretary of CLC/TC65CX) Member of VDE/DKE K931 „System Aspects“ nominated by ZVEI President of the working group „Manufacturing Execution Systems -MES“ of ZVEI.
