I write and teach on public administration and public policy issues with a special focus on the case of Portugal. I have held teaching positions at Coimbra University (2001-2008), Aberta University(2013-2016), Evora University (2008-2011), ISCSP-University of Lisbon (2011-2018) and ISCTE-IUL(2010-2012, 2017-Present). I was a political adviser to the Ministry of Health (2005-2008). I have held research positions at INA (1997-2011); DGAEP (2011-2021) and INA (2021-2023). My research on health politics in Portugal has been funded by the NORFACE Grant and was published in a part of the book edited by Oxford University Press (2021). My work has appeared or is forthcoming in Social Policy and Administration, Journal of Social Policy, MDPI, Revista CLAD, RAEP, INA Editora, Mundos Sociais, and OECD. I really value the connection between science and society and participated in several platforms specifically aimed at bringing scientific insights to a broader audience, among others Ciência Aberta. Currently, I am a member of the editorial board of the REAP (DGAEP), a Doctor Member of Juan March Institute and a member of the board of IPPS-IUL (ISCTE-IUL). I am the mother of two daughters, live in Lisbon and love being with family & friends, reading good books and being active outdoors in particular in the mountain.
