I’ve spent the past two years learning multiple metrology techniques such as Ellipsometry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS), Nuclear Reaction Analysis (NRA), Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and Hall Effect Measurement. I've had hands on experience using these techniques to assist in the characterization of multiple thin films that have been grown for my master’s research project. Not only have I gained the experience in operating these tools but I have also gained the experience of interpreting metrology data and presenting it back to the process engineers within the semiconductor FAB located within our facilities.
