Mark Render’s Expertise I have been working within ICT for over 20 years having started as a Helpdesk Technician and gradually working my way through the ranks to that of senior leadership. This in turn has given me a profound respect and understanding for all roles within a successful ICT team. I have also been lucky enough to work across both public and private sectors and with a variety of industries directly or indirectly via managed service providers, predominantly including Healthcare, Not for Profit, Financial, Manufacturing and Education Services. I focus on digital transformation, innovation and simplification in a manner that is logical, sustainable and either solves problems or adds tangible benefit to the business whether this is to enhance a service offering or improving user experience through to simply maintaining the operational status quo. I believe whole heartedly that people deal with people, and I strive to ensure that the teams I lead are empowered to deliver to the best of their capability and members feel valued, supported, and respected, this in turn has seen the teams I have led have greater engagement with all business units and ultimately improve overall customer satisfaction rates. ICT is a technology discipline, but it is also about Customer Service and Engagement and having patience, understanding and empathy for your end users but also having the confidence to challenge the norm is paramount to building rapport with your client base, turning this into improving a colleague or a customer’s life through technology is something I thrive upon and enjoy. I have been lucky enough to be part of a number of organisations that have trusted me to guide them through digital modernisation (some large scale projects involving multiple scopes of work and significant financial investment) through to the more scaled back requirements or simple process change, it is not simply a case of one size fits all, you need to understand a business fully and its direction, aspirations and appetite for digital uplift before you can develop a modernisation portfolio, and this can be challenging but incredibly rewarding equally.
