My years as a journalist gave me an excellent understanding of how to ask good questions and deal with different personalities. It greatly sharpened my skills in dealing with people, as well as my overall communication and writing skills. Between my sports career and joining Fidelity, I was the Web Content Specialist, Head of Development Policy and Training at a startup called doneWebs in Dallas, Texas. In that role, I built websites and solved problems for customers, helped with our sales and marketing, and did whatever was needed in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment of fewer than 10 employees.
