Matthew Bujak’s Expertise Matthew Bujak Biography Dr.Bujak completed both his medical school and his ophthalmology residency at University Toronto. He returned to St. Michael’s and University of Toronto after completing two top US cornea fellowships at Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California and the Moran Eye Center in Utah. His second fellowship had an international focus where he worked with Geoffrey Tabin and the Himalayan Cataract Project. Dr.Bujak maintains an active interest in international development and the provision of eye care to the developing world. He is the medical director of International Ophthalmology at University of Toronto. To date he has worked with the Himalayan Cataract project, ORBIS, USAID, Vision 20/20, Sight Life and the World Health Organization to provide eye care in 10 countries worldwide including developing residency programs, training courses and writing textbook chapters. Typically Matthew completes 2 to 3 international missions a year. He has previously received the Sopman Humanitarian award in recognition for his work. Currently holding the position of Assistant Professor at University of Toronto, doctor Bujak operates at St.Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Kensington Eye Institute, and Clearview Laser Institute. He provides cataract surgery with a particular interest in dense complicated cataracts typically seen in developing world, and under serviced populations in Canada. He performs all types of corneal transplants including DMEK, DSAEK, DALK, PKP. Through the Kensington Eye Institute he provides fem-to second assisted corneal transplants.
