Since I was young I have had an interest in technology which has spilled over into data and data analytics as my career developed. I enjoy applying tech solutions to solve problems and often look to self-learn new skills whenever needed. My career started with me working for a high street lender before moving to a private Trust Company where I trained as an accountant. Apart from a few years working for a large commercial business’ tax and financial planning team, the rest of my career has been within the Fiduciary industry. I have held a wide set of roles and responsibilities and have been involved in projects spanning a diverse range of sizes and scope. These include deliverables around changes in regulation and laws, M&A’s / de-merger’s, system implementations / upgrades and premises development and moves. I feel lucky to have had such a wide set of roles and project experience as they have given me the opportunity to learn and then re-use this knowledge on new tasks or projects. To me, being open minded and agile around change is important, and this coupled with learnt experiences and knowledge is what I see as my key strengths. These qualities allow me to apply good governance and decision making each day to any task big or small, even when the pressure is on. I also enjoy rolling-up my sleeves and getting down in the heavy lifting tasks when it is required. It is important to me to be able to translate knowledge and effort from wherever you sit within an organisation to ensure goals are achieved and targets met, whilst also still eyeing the wider picture. The tech opportunities within the Trust and Wealth industry present exciting opportunities for efficiencies and differentiation. I see a need for all sectors to promote continued learning and development in the tech space as a key for all, both employers and employees.
