Matthew Walters’s Expertise I don't know how to slow down. My mind and body race a mile a minute, which propels my personal and professional careers. I'm been a Marine, wildland firefighter, professional bowler, and private investigator, to mention a few. Now, I'm on the electrical engineering path, which I've been on since engineering school where I graduated with a BSEE in 2017 and MSEE in 2021. My engineering career has taken me from design and test engineering to product engineering. As a product engineer, I manage everything in and around the lifecycle of discrete and power products. Specifically, discrete and module Radio Frequency (RF) products. Google "ARF300" or "DRF1400" to get an idea of what I work with. My job entails a wide range of responsibilities including: - Developing and testing products - Defining and communicating product strategy - Troubleshooting issues and improving product performance - Overseeing the product manufacturing process - Understanding and applying statistical methods and tools This list is incomplete, but it gives you an idea of what I do. I like to think of myself as a maestro of an orchestra; everything must be coordinated and in sync to get a product developed, tested, and validated in a reasonable time to get the product into the market. I'm at an interesting crossroads with my career; I could maintain the course and continue down the engineering path (design, test, product, etc.) or move into management. Because of this, I decided to go back to school to get my MBA at The University of Arizona. If I decide to go into management in the next few years, the MBA will help me achieve that. If I decide to maintain the engineering path, that is fine too. Either way, I will have gained additional knowledge that I can use down the road.
