Maxime Souillat’s Expertise I began learning how to craft software few years ago in a hangar in the suburbs of Paris. I quickly fell in love with code because I really like to build things out of the blue. Since then, I've written code every single day, contributed to several codebases, from entire products that are used by thousands of people to small toys nobody cares about except me. I've written a lot of back-end code but also worked on front-end and UX. Before switching careers, I worked as a social media manager / copywriter within a small agency in Paris. I did many things there and worked for brands big and small. Amongst my many missions, I've even written puns for a major retail company for a few years. I learnt a lot about people and developed a real ability to put myself in others shoes, and took great pride in helping my clients and teammates solve their problems. As a software engineer, I still like to put myself in others shoes. I always think a lot about the UX of the products I work on and do my best to make things as obvious as possible both for the end user and other developers. When I just began coding, some friends and I created a prototype for a rehearsal booking system for musicians. Over few months, we grew the prototype to a full fledged startup product and now help dozens of musicians practice more easily. I also had the chance to work at talent.io, a successful tech recruitment company. I worked with pretty great developers and met very smart people there. I'm still very proud of the search bar I worked on, which began as a very tiny feature and quickly became a lot bigger to help teammates get things done quicker. Lately, I created an alternative UI for google calendar on desktop. I felt frustrated with the current one and wanted to learn React so I decided to make my very own. It's still in its early days, the roadmap is huge, but hey, that's what software is all about! Be it a calendar, a searchbar or a booking form, this is what I love about software: you can improve people's lives and make a difference with tiny details that seem obvious but need a lot of forethought. And this is what I love to do: craft things from start to finish, create products of all sizes and improve them bit by bit. My stack : ruby - ruby on rails - ES6 - react - SQL - bootstrap - tailwind
